'Blue Butterflies' Sparrow Box #162
'Blue Butterflies' Sparrow Box #162
'Blue Butterflies' Sparrow Box is one of a kind and unique birdhouse finished in a decoupage process, painted and sealed ready for outside.
It's been made by Dad/Stan, from team BeSt, and finished by Bette/Mum. As pictured it has a blue roof with gold trim and a blue perch. The walls are covered in blue butterflies that also have a touch of gold on some.
This can be attached to a pole or post by a couple of screws through the backing timber. It will need a coat of marine varnish in about 3 years to give it more life and help protect it. And kept out of direct sun will keep it looking bright and crisp too.
The actual house is about 19cm high at the front and 22cm at the back with the backing timber for attaching 29cm long/high. It is 14cm wide with the roof being 19cm wide and 18cm deep/long.
At the side is a door for easy clean out once the birds have grown up and left the nest!
There's also a 2022 coin on one side - this is Dad's little thing, that started years ago when he was teaching woodwork to special needs people in the Hunter Valley. Although this coin is in memory of Queen Elizabeth.
